WRV T - AC Test System

Withstand voltage tests on AC and DC XLPE cables can be performed using the AC test system with variable frequency (WRV T) in the factory or once laid on-site. The test system operates in a frequency range from 10 Hz to 300 Hz and complies with the requirements according to IEC 60840 and IEC 62067. A single system is designed for tests of up to 260 kV and 112 A, which facilitates testing of high-voltage cables that can be several kilometers in length. Several test  ystems can be conveniently connected in series and/or parallel when higher test voltages required and testing cables of up to 100 kilometers in length.

Key features
» Pure sinusoidal voltage at the output
» Low PD background noise level < 10 pC
» IEC-compliant frequency range from 20 Hz to 300 Hz
» Several systems can be connected in series or parallel to increase test voltage and/or power.
» Quick and easy setup of test system
» Maintenance-free, no moving parts

Application
» On-site testing of XLPE terrestrial and submarine cables
» Withstand voltage testing
» Partial discharge measurements (primarily in cable sleeves or short cables)
