Enging TCM provides adequate tools capable of, non-invasively and in real time, determine the state of the transformer’s operation and detect any abnormality in its electrical circuit, magnetic circuit or mechanical components. This detection is done as early as possible, so that the transformer maintenance actions could be properly scheduled, thus avoiding unplanned shutdowns. On the other hand, the use of these tools prevents a failure initially located in a given component from spreading to the other healthy parts, thereby reducing the transformer’s repairing cost.
This solution is based on an innovative deterministic method completely different from traditional techniques, based on a deterministic mathematical algorithm and using only electrical variables as inputs, with no need of historical data.
Since it is based on the measurement of electric variables, this approach presents several advantages when compared to traditional techniques.
